Apple is acting like Microsoft did before they got hit with all of their security bugs.  I bet Apple is on it’s way down to.  Unfortunately Apple’s arrogance will make BSD look bad when it’s Apple’s mis configurations that are to blame not the underlying OS.

SemiAccurate :: Apple’s respone to iPhone 4 antenna problems is unacceptable.

You need to log into your iTunes account and change your password.  Once you do that go into the payment details and select none to clear out your CC or checking account information.  There’s more details Here, Here, Here.

iTunes accounts hacking more widespread than initially thought. The facts, and what you should do..

The Iphone 4 is going to gobble video like there’s no tomorrow..AT&T’s response?  Let’s push everyone into high per/gigabyte overage buckets and rake in the cash.  My question is…how long until folks wise up to the scam and drop their iphone plans altogether?  We are going to see lots of stories about folks complaining..and not taking responsibility for their continuing to do business with AT&T…If you have the chance you have two choices….stay on your current 5 gig “unlimited” plan or you can get the new features and pay more than double.  Frankly?  I would would choose neither.  The cell carriers are only raping folks like they did with the landlines.  The only to reign them in is to not use these “smartphones”.  Right now the plans behind the phones are nothing but huge scams.

iPhone 4 Will Mercilously Obliterate Your AT&T Caps – Which is just the way AT&T wants it… – dslreports.com.

This is by design.  Chrome is multi-threaded and will distribute all aspects of the site(especially audio and video) across of all of your cores it can.  This leads to high intensity sites NOT getting slow or having issues provided your bandwidth holds up.  I have seen multiple tweets about this behavior.  It’s been common in many many other apps for a long time…it’s about time web browsers came of age in this regard.  On the Windows front the best browser for MT performance is Google followed by…IE8.  Yes IE8 is partially threaded.  Firefox and Safari are not threaded.  I have had to start using Google more and more because sites are beginning to overload FF and others due to them NOT being threaded.  I won’t USE IE due to it’s near constant Active X issues.  I really hope MS ditches Active X.  IE has really come a long way but Active x still allows IE to be an easy target directly to the lowest levels of your system.

The comparisons of browsers(with the exception of IE) also apply to the Mac as well.

This is a spoof of the Vista Choices ad in the long running mac vs poc series of ads from Apple.  I ran across this one as a link.

YouTube – UNRELEASED Mac vs. PC AD for iPhone and iPod Touch SPOOF.

I found this in a google search since i was having issues.

There is a working solution for iTunes 8.2 x64 in combination with Windows 7 x64 and the iPod Shuffle. You will only have to follow the described steps a SINGLE time. Once you did that, you’ll be able to use iTunes again the way you were used to with Vista/XP/etc.

* Disconnect your iPod Shuffle from your PC

* Press CTRL-ALT-DEL, start the Task-Manager, go to Processes and kick out “ITunesHelper.exe” (this will prevent iTunes from starting when you re-connect the Shuffle)

* Now, re-connect the iPod Shuffle – iTunes should NOT start by itself and you should be able to see your Shuffle within the list of your drives (My Computer)

* Next, download SharePod from SharePod – Download extract the .zip file and start the Sharepod.exe

* If everything works out, Sharepod will recognize your iPod Shuffle

The tricky part:

* Sharpod won’t start if iTunes is open but it will work vice-versa. So, start iTunes NOW and keep Sharepod OPEN.

* iTunes will re-detect your Shuffle but it will still be available as a hard-drive afterwards as long as you keep Sharepod OPEN.

* Now go to your iPod Summary in iTunes and DESELECT iTunes autostart, SELECT hard-drive usage and ACCEPT those changes.

* If you want, you can copy and/or delete some music on your Shuffle.

* When you’re done, close iTunes WITHOUT ejecting the iPod.

* Close Sharepod next and simply disconnect your iPod Shuffle.

After the next reboot (ITunesHelper.exe will be running again) you don’t have to care about Sharepod or processes anymore. Simply connect your iPod to the PC, open up iTunes and everything should work as planned. Just don’t eject the iPod from within iTunes, simply disconnecting it from the PC will be handled by Windows 7 automatically.

Hope i could help!

Cheers from Austria

DailyTech – Another Major Mac Computer Security Flaw Discovered.

And of course it’s another remote takeover vulnerability.  I just posted about how Apple’s arrogance is biting them in the rear.

BSD IS more secure than windows by default but no operating system is immune to stupid implementation.  Exposing root or writing applications to run as root but not tell the operator are examples of this stupidity.  It’s one thing to design insecurity into your system..however it is the height of arrogance to take something that is secure by design and circumvent that.  This circumvention is apparently what Apple has done…and now many apple users are going to pay the price. I think this is going to be the first of many Apple security alerts in the future.
